Just like Mom...

As I was frantically mowing the lawn, cleaning the house, and putting away the dishes this afternoon...I was reminded of something....

Growing up, my mom used to drive me crazy (and everyone else) when we were having last minute company or when we were going on vacation. In both cases, she would transform into a whirlwind, blowing through the house cleaning everything in sight and barking out orders to the rest of us. Seriously. I distinctly remember rolling my eyes and promising myself that I would never be like that. I mean, who cares what the house looks like when you are on vacation....right? If someone is coming to your house at the last minute...they deserve to see a messy house...right?

Well, as most of you might know from your own experiences...sometimes those things we promise ourselves we will never do...well, they end up happening anyway. So, as I'm running around like a crazed maniac (because I've just learned the whole family will be coming over to my house this afternoon), I recall this self made promise. It makes me smile that even though it drove me insane as a kid...I can honestly say that I am just like my mom in this way.
